Wanda Lee Degal, 85, of Brady, died
Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in Quincy, Ill.
Graveside services were held Saturday, June 7
at Lohn Cemetery with Rev. Gaylon Morris
officiating.
She was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Red Oak, to
Worth Rockett Smith and Angeline S. (Knotts)
Smith. She married Jake Degal Jan. 21, 1955,
in Brady.
She was a resident of the area most of her life,
was a housekeeper for Heart of Texas
Memorial Hospital for several years and was a
member of Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Delmar Rocket
Colbaugh and wife, Peggy, of Myrtle Creek,
Ore., and Robert Charles Waddill of San
Antonio; a daughter, Kathleen Fay Waddill Roe
and husband, Gary, of Quincy, Ill.; a brother,
Vernon L. Smith of Granbury; a sister, Bernice
R. Smith Ellis of Cleburne; seven grandchildren
and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband and a son, Freddie Starrett Colbaugh.
